Victor and Carina Contini (owners of Centotre and The Scottish Cafe, Edinburgh) took on a HUGE project when they planned to restore a Victorian garden into their very own kitchen garden.
It had always been the family’s dream to grow their own produce for their restaurants. The Coninis moved out of town to give their children some more space – and at the same time, gain a one-acre site in the heart of the Esk Valley Conservation area.
Coolbox were onsite from Day 1 to capture every part of the Continis’ journey. Our crew returned to the garden every few months to record the progress of the project.
A year later, and with help from dozens of extra pairs of hands (students from the Royal Botanical Gardens, friend and supplier Graham Stoddart at Cuddybridge Apple Juice and Erica Randall, their newly-appointed Head Gardener) the garden is completed and supplier the Continis' restaurants with fresh, local produce everyday.
You can view our most recent visit to the garden here.
Once the project was completed, we asked Victor and Carina a few questions about their experience working with Coolbox.
